SCLT seeks a leader who embraces the challenge of preserving Sitka's unique, vibrant community for the next generation with permanently affordable housing.
The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, operation and financial success of the Sitka Community Land Trust. This includes strategic guidance of the organization, stewardship of SCLT’s current portfolio, oversight of all phases of real estate development, and the financial and administrative systems that support them. The ED reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the organization’s consistent achievement of its mission and benchmarks. The ED is supported by three part-time staff members: a Program Manager, a Grants Manager, and a Project Manager.
In partnership with the Board, staff, community stakeholders, funders, SCLT homeowners, and government partners, the successful candidate will identify and evaluate potential development projects for SCLT, adding new, attractive, affordable homeownership opportunities to Sitka.

The San Juan Community Home Trust is seeking a mission-driven, community-oriented Executive Director to lead the organization. This is a great opportunity to serve as the public face of a trusted local organization working to preserve and expand permanently affordable housing on San Juan Island. The ED will provide strategic, operational, and external leadership for the Home Trust, working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, donors, and public partners. The ED represents the Home Trust publicly, stewards relationships with partners and supporters, ensures strong internal operations, and advances the organization’s mission of permanently affordable housing. The ED leads a small, growing, dedicated team and engages deeply with community members, homeowners, government partners, donors, and volunteers. This role is both hands-on and strategic, balancing development oversight, fundraising, team leadership, and community engagement in a small, high-impact organization.
