Gathering 2021 Registration OpeN: Events planned for may 3-5



With great optimism, we are opening registration for the 2021 Northwest Community Land Trust Coalition Gathering, scheduled for May 3-5, 2021.


We are currently planning a hybrid event with some in person attendance as well as some participating virtually. We are also prepared to pivot to a completely virtual event or to postpone, if needed. That decision will be made in early February.


We hope you will consider joining us either in person or virtually for another year of education, comradery; professional development and technical assistance for Community Land Trust organizations and affiliated partners. We plan to gather at Ashland Hills Hotel & Suites in Ashland, Oregon, hosted by NeighborWorks Umpqua.


This year’s gathering will feature sessions on messaging, advocacy, homeowner engagement, scaling up your CLT, disaster recovery, donated homes and much more! With the inclusion of experts from State Housing Finance Agency Commissions, the HUD Region 10, an expanded lenders panel, as well as the return of the famous bocce ball tournament, this year’s gathering is one you don’t want to miss!

o NWCLTC Members: Non-refundable deposit of $85 required at registration, assuming we will be gathering in person, the remaining balance will be due March 31st, 2021

o Non-Members: Non-refundable deposit of $100 required at registration, remaining balance due March 31st, 2021

o Non-Members, non-refundable virtual access only: $125

Hotel accommodations are booked separately, and our room block is now open until February 2nd, 2021 the discounted rate will remain available based on room availability. Discounted room rates are between $119-$139/night (not including taxes).

Schedule Summary (subject to change)


Monday, May 3rd:

  • 1:00 – 2:00 pm – Intro to CLTs and affordable homeownership – Open to anyone new to CLTs. This session will cover the basics and help set a base level of knowledge that will help prepare you for the rest of the gathering.

  • 2:00-4:30 pm "Grounding the Investment: Working with CLTs in Your Community." Open to anyone new to community land trusts and wanting to learn more. Ideal for startup CLT's or public or private entities looking to partner with CLT's in their community. This event is $25 for non-members and free for NWCLTC Members.

  • 4:30-8:30pm - Opening reception hosted by NeighborWorks Umpqua – Location TBD

Tuesday May 4th:

  • Workshops 9:00 am to Noon; and 1:15 to 4:30 pm – Topics include messaging, homeowner engagement, scaling up your CLT, advocacy, HUD regional round table, organizational sustainability and more.

  • Lunch and NWCLTC Annual Meeting 12:15 to 1:15 pm

  • Dinner and bocce ball tournament


Wednesday May 5th:

  • Workshops 9:00 am to Noon; and 1:45 to 5:00 pm – Topics include lender panel, disaster recovery, CLT’s and economic development, Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae, donated homes, manufactured, modular and pre fab homes, State Housing Finance Agency Commissions, pre-fab homes, messaging and more

  • Working Lunch Noon to 1:00 pm


Scholarships


Scholarships of up to $250 are available to members of the NWCLT Coalition. Limit of 2 per organization. CLT Homeowners are encouraged to attend and can apply for scholarship funds separate from their CLT organization. Deadline to submit a scholarship request is February 28th, 2021.
