Virtual "Gathering" of NWCLT Coalition May 5
Greetings, Colleagues, Partners and Friends, May 5 was to have been the official opening of our annual regional Coalition Gathering, and many of us were looking forward to connecting with our colleagues and hearing updates on how and what everyone is doing. Unfortunately, as is often part of the human experience, our plans have been altered, and we are all struggling to balance personal and community health with necessary activities and financial obligations. As part of the NWCLTC ongoing mission to help community land trusts connect with each other and share ideas, we are going to at least “gather” and hear the updates from our colleagues across the five Northwest states!
May 5, 2020, 12 – 130pm PDT - REGISTER NOW!
The format for the updates will be the same as last year—select/make/find a talisman or token to help you and your staff tell a story about this past year and your accomplishments. Please time your story and limit it to no more than 2 – 2.5 minutes, so that we can complete our updates in 75 minutes, which will leave us a few minutes to review the upcoming schedule of events, board elections, and proposed bylaw changes. The storytelling format helps us as we advocate for policy changes, and as we encourage community members to engage with our organizations—and it’s FUN! Lopez CLT’s “Make America Graze Again” was priceless! Other upcoming events, final details are pending:
June [2-5], 4-5pm PDT Cocktail Party with Tony Pickett from Grounded Solutions Network
July [1-2], noon-1pm PDT Annual Meeting with bylaw changes and Board Elections
August [18-28] noon – 1pm Advocacy Meeting with state-specific breakout sessions
Then, in September, we hope to see you in Minneapolis for Intersections 2020 with GSN, and in October, we hope to see you in Tacoma for Housing Washington!
The NWCLTC is able to put these events together and further our pilot programs of mentorship and peer support through two terrific sponsors; JP Morgan Chase and Banner Bank have extended their Gathering sponsorship to cover these meetings and operational expenses this year, even without our regular event! It is these ongoing partnerships that facilitate stronger Community Land Trusts throughout our Region!!!
Thank you again, Banner Bank and JP Morgan Chase Bank!!!
